Tendinopathies of the Achilles tendon affect 2% of the general adult population, with a prevalence in active individuals up to 40% depending on the type and level of sporting activity. Pain and inflammation control is one of the first steps when treating any type of tendinopathy. When considering Physical therapy, exercises that load the tendon are promoted as being beneficial for tendinopathy. Isolated eccentric exercises that involve the ankle joint are receiving the most attention for promoting recovery and increasing strenght.

What to do? Regardless of your situation, visiting a Chiropractor or Physical therapist for an evaluation is a must!
