Shoulder Impingement is a common diagnosis for patients presenting with shoulder pain. Historically, it was believed to be due to compression on the rotator cuff tendons beneath the acromion. It has become evident that “impingement syndrome” is likely not an isolated condition that can be easily diagnosed with  clinical tests. Tendon, subacromial space and movement mechanics of the shoulder all play factors when it comes to shoulder pain. Physical Therapy is a great approach for pain management, movement evaluation and proper modalities.
